Part of the appeal of Blackguards’ combat has always been the way that it incorporates environmental interaction, which remains in the second game. No doubt some fans of Blackguards will deem this a “dumbing-down”, and I can’t disagree with that but for most players coming in fresh the system in Blackguards 2 will have more than enough complexity to be experimented with short of appearing suffocatingly and unnecessarily complicated. Blackguards 2 pares back the progression tree. The trouble with the first Blackguards, as I mentioned in my review of that game, was that there was only one currency to improve character stats, AP, and as a player with little guidance, you had to somehow decide how to dole that AP out between eight attributes and 29 abilities that can all be tweaked independently. Now it’s user friendly and achieves this while sacrificing only a tiny amount of depth. The RPG progression system has been refined too, in a similar fashion. The combat is still a touch on slow side - much of the game’s 20 hour run time will be spent waiting for enemies to form up on your position - but that allows it to remain ponderous and methodical and not sacrifice any of the planning and strategy of the core combat system. In Blackguards 2 everything is punchier and more fun. Attacks would miss more than they would wound, which looks a tad silly when every unit is a statue on the honeycomb battlefield. It’s a richly complicated, highly strategic system, but in the first game it suffered from a plodding slowness. Players and monsters take turns to move, attack, cast spells and use abilities. Cassia remains the star, with her interactions and relationships with these recurring characters elevating them above their mediocre status in the first game.īlackguards 2, like its predecessor, is a turn-based tactical combat game on a hexagonal grid. Zurburan can be entertaining, but his voice-acting still sounds like a voice that might have been employed by Jimmy Fallon in a Saturday Night Live sketch about wizards. Naurim is serviceable as the stock dwarf character. She is unashamedly evil, and she gives momentum to a simple plot of conquest that might otherwise be far less compelling - and make less sense - with a player-created protagonist.Ĭharacters from the original Blackguards, the greedy dwarf Naurim and the wizard Zurburan among others, return for the second game and they fulfill similar roles in the plot. Cassia interrogates prisoners to gain intel in ways that are often brutal. Daedalic entertainment billed Blackguards as a violent, nasty dark-fantasy game, and the sequel supports this claim better than the original. It feels terrifically unique to play as a woman that isn’t a stereotypically gorgeous, benevolent and slightly rebellious twentysomething. Alyx Vance, BioShock Infinite’s Elizabeth, Jade and Commander Shepard would probably all get along pretty well. She isn’t any particular stock class and can instead be nurtured, like an Elder Scrolls character, into a warmongering dictator with whatever combination of combat, magical and utility skills the player might be interested in using.Įven amongst female game characters that are heaped with praise there is little diversity. Fortunately Cassia is a blank slate, from a statistical perspective. Some players are certain to be upset about not being able to create their own character from scratch, especially in context of the rich, and near-prohibitively complicated Dark Eye roleplaying rules. It poisons her mind too, and she becomes fanatical about taking the kingdom for herself. Gradually, the venom invades the tissues of her body and her face grows swollen and grossly deformed. Over the many years of in-game time that serve as a quick tutorial for the combat and levelling systems Cassia is attacked and bitten, over and over by pale terrier-sized spiders. Cassia of Tenos, a beautiful aristocratic heir enjoying the best years of her life petting kittens and taking leisurely strolls in the city, is imprisoned for political reasons in a perilous, tortuous labyrinth. Instead of creating your own hero from scratch, as in the first game, you play as a pre-baked character with goals of her own. Blackguards 2 is a much more gripping take on this slightly tired fantasy trope. The protagonist is wrongfully imprisoned in a dungeon and is desperate to claw back to the surface and the warm sunshine. The sequel is only an iteration, but it’s rife with small, important improvements.īoth Blackguards games began with their central characters in the same sort of strife. A little under a year ago the German developer released the first title in the series. Normally it would be concerning to see an independent developer approach their release schedule with the yearly-iterative-sequel attitude of a juggernaut business like Ubisoft, but Daedalic Entertainment defies expectation in Blackguards 2. The 400 lbs of pel lime is like 90plus percent ECCE.Ĥ. If you are looking for a long term build, quarry aglime will be better.ģ. Pel lime is available today and if u need a quick fix it will help. Pel lime is finely ground lime that is pelleted and spreads like fertilizer. I don't get where they come up with that number. Their website is misleading claiming it would take only 400lbs of pell lime to do the work of 3600 lbs of my ag lime. In addition, there is research that suggests they correct pH at similar rates. Ill stick to $7 lime at $17/ton applied vs $100 plus a ton. Application and hauling costs would be half, but for us ag lime at 2 ton/ac that's only saving $10/ac. Wet lime is fun and it doesn't blow away but you are buying water so its fine to assume 25% loss. I suppose its easier to spread, but dry lime is pretty easy. It has a set ECCE somewhere around 90%, which compared to lime around here at 62% and assuming 25% blows away, you could only reduce rates by about half. I've never understood how anyone could afford to pay for pell lime even at $100 a ton. Posted 19:51 (#2864777 - in reply to #2861575) Subject: Re: Roughly, what does pell-lime cost? If you are after sulfur you could use gypsum 16#/per 100# with no burn but no N either. Looking for just $25,000 to help us recover from our outstanding debts, and reopen our doors. In our most dire hour of need The Cave started an IndieGoGo During this time we always promoted and ran our events, because more than anything our community is what drove us to stay open and we wanted to be a home for them. We received no financial aid from the government for small businesses, and even with the reduction in income we did the best we could by running The Cave at a loss, and having the ownership work for free. Covid regulations forced our business to close for over 6 months. In 2017 our local Hearthstone Inn won the Blizzcon championship, and many of our local players have gone off to become prolific players in their respective games (like Zain in the SSBM community).Īpproximately 2 months ago our power was cut off. We have always tried our best to keep our costs down, and provide the best events that allowed casuals and professional players to enjoy and succeed. That dream would become The Cave Gaming Center.Īfter covid swept through the nation our communities started to dwindle and less players and guests were leaving their homes. The spot was roughly 3000 sq ft and after many months we eventually opened in the fall of 2015. Community leaders of the Fighting Game Community (FGC/Super Smash), Blizzard fandom (mostly hearthstone, and WoW at the time), MOBAs (like League of Legends, DOTA2, and even HoN), and the FPS’s (CS 1.6, CS:GO, HALO, CoD) all helped us create one of the most active scenes in the entire United States. We worked hard as a team and decided early on that we wanted it to cater to the local communities and the fledgling eSports scene at the time. In 2013 my friends and I had a dream to open the best LAN and event center on the East Coast. ☆ Go to and use code MOMS and to get an extra 20% on all the maternity and post-partum leggings you need Motherhood Maternity: Shop maternity leggings for everyday comfort ☆ Go to and use promo code MOMS to save $15 off your first month’s subscription Nutrafol: You can grow thicker, healthier hair ☆ Go to /MOMS and download the Zocdoc app to sign-up for FREE and book a top-rated doctor Zocdoc: Find local doctors who take your insurance ☆ Go to and use code Betches10 at checkout for 10% off your orderīetter Help: Unlimited professional counseling via online chat, video or phone. ☆ Go to and use promo code MONEYPLEASE to get a $10 sign-up bonus when you spend your first $25 Betches Momsīugaboo: Get the best stroller for your baby. ☆ Go to and use promo code BRIDES to get a $10 sign-up bonus when you spend your first $25 Money Please TopCashback: The USA’s most generous cashback site ☆ G o to and use promo code BRIDES to save an additional 15% off your first order ☆ Go to /brides to get 10% off your first monthįramebridge: Frame your photos or send the perfect gift Unlimited professional counseling via online chat, video or phone. ☆ Go to /BRIDES for 10% off during your first 3 monthsīetterHelp: In partnership with our sponsor: BetterHelp.
